Security
Where we start from
This website is how X21 introduces itself. We built it following a simple rule: collect only the data we need to respond to you, and keep to a minimum the parts that could fail.
No accounts, no tracking
You do not need to sign up to use the website, and there is no user area. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. To count visits we use anonymous analytics that sets no cookies and does not identify you. Your browser keeps a few functional preferences in its local storage, such as your language or the fact that you have already sent the self-diagnostic; that information stays on your device. The details are in the privacy policy.
A deliberately simple website
The website is static: its pages are generated in advance, and it does not run its own code on a server. It does not use PHP, a content management system or third-party plugins, and it holds no passwords or keys. Fewer moving parts means fewer doors to watch and keep up to date.
The connection is always encrypted (HTTPS), and your browser is told to use the encrypted connection every time. The typefaces are loaded from an external font service, so when you open a page your browser also makes a request to that service.
When we do ask for data
The contact form, the self-diagnostic and the Briefing subscription ask for the data needed to respond to you. That data travels encrypted to our internal systems; it is not stored on the website. What we use it for and how long we keep it is explained in the privacy policy.
This website never asks for passwords or payment details.
What no website can do for you
No website is invulnerable, and some risks do not depend on us: a compromised device, an untrusted network or a message that pretends to come from X21. If you receive a message in our name that asks for passwords or payment details, or that seems odd, check with us at info@x21.consulting before replying.
If you find a problem
If you think you have found a security problem on this website, please write to info@x21.consulting with “Security” in the subject line before making it public, so we can fix it. Thank you for helping us.
This note describes the website as it works today. If anything changes, we will update it.
